Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Fruit Inspector for a fixed two-month contract working primarily at the Port of Tauranga and various cool stores. This role offers guaranteed hours (40 hours per fortnight) with a flexible schedule including early mornings and weekends depending on shipping requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine kiwifruit shipments to ensure compliance with Zespri’s rigorous quality standards.
- Maintain detailed and accurate audit records from inspections.
- Detect and report any issues with fruit quality or food safety.
- Operate electric pallet jiffy equipment (training provided).
- Manage pallet stacking and de-stacking, including use of strapping tools.
- Follow health and safety protocols consistently.
- Assist with additional tasks and projects as required.
Candidate Profile
- Strong numeracy and a keen eye for detail.
- Clear and accurate written communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Willingness to learn Zespri fruit grading standards.
- Physically capable of performing hands-on tasks.
- Experience with electric pallet jiffy or in the kiwifruit sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Understanding of food safety is preferred.

Additional Information
This is a fixed-term contract for two months with guaranteed minimum hours. The hours are flexible and will include early starts as well as weekend shifts depending on operational needs.
