About the Role and Company

Saputo Inc. is a leading global dairy processor renowned for producing high-quality dairy products and fostering employee growth within an inclusive environment. We are seeking a Cheese Packer at our Camelford site, where you will gain hands-on experience in cheese production, supporting quality assurance, and ensuring proper packaging and compliance standards before maturation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate cheese packaging machinery following established standard operating procedures and production guidelines.
• Maintain vigilance throughout the packing process, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Effectively communicate and assist with troubleshooting during equipment breakdowns.
• Manually handle cheese blocks weighing approximately 20kg and pack up to 10 tonnes per hour if automated machinery is unavailable.
• Keep precise documentation and implement corrective measures to sustain production line efficiency and packaging quality.
• Perform hygiene and cleaning duties for the cheese department in line with food safety and cleaning schedules.
• Spot and suggest improvements to enhance operational methods.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in food production or food preparation environments.
• Basic computing skills, capable of using PCs, HMIs, or SCADA systems for process monitoring.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly and effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and comfortable working independently.
• Knowledgeable about general food hygiene practices.

Working Conditions and Additional Information

The role involves a rotating shift pattern of three days on and three days off, covering both day and night shifts from 7am to 7pm.

Annual salary is £33,361.92.
