About the Role
Saputo Inc., a leading global dairy processor and an established name in Australia with well-known brands, is inviting applications for the position of Payroll Specialist. This role involves supporting a workforce of about 400 employees paid weekly and fortnightly across multiple manufacturing facilities. Working in a fast-moving environment, the successful candidate will ensure precise and timely payroll processing while assisting employees and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete payroll cycle for predominantly wage-based employees on a weekly and fortnightly schedule.
- Interpret and apply Enterprise Bargaining Agreements and payroll laws to guarantee correct remuneration.
- Handle payroll reconciliations, PAYG, superannuation, and ensure adherence to all statutory reporting requirements.
- Examine payroll calculations, monitor leave balances, and resolve payroll exceptions.
- Address employee payroll queries with high customer service standards.
- Generate payroll reports and conduct payroll data analysis using Excel.
- Support payroll audits and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Operate various payroll and workforce management systems including My Workplace, Workday, Workforce, and Chris21/iChris, contributing to system harmonization projects.
- Participate in payroll testing and system implementation initiatives.
- Collaborate cooperatively with team members to ensure smooth payroll operations on weekly and fortnightly cycles.
Candidate Profile
- Experience managing end-to-end payroll processes in medium to large organizations.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll legislation, awards, and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements.
- Proficiency or experience with Chris21/iChris payroll software is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with payroll and time & attendance systems.
- Ability to confidently review payroll data, leave entitlements, and maintain employee records.
- Intermediate Excel skills with competence in data analysis and payroll reporting.
- High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
- Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- A team-oriented mindset with readiness to support peers during peak payroll periods.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or other award-regulated environments is advantageous.
