About the Role
Join as a Food Service Worker and contribute to providing nourishing meals within a supportive school community. This full-time role involves daily food preparation, meal service, and maintaining sanitation standards to ensure a safe and welcoming dining environment for students and staff.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals following recipes, production guidelines, and hygiene protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in kitchen and service areas.
- Stock food service areas including serving lines, salad bars, and refrigeration units.
- Adhere strictly to food storage, rotation, and sanitation procedures.
- Courteously serve meals to students, staff, and visitors.
- Support unloading and organization of deliveries and inventory management.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
- Follow all applicable health regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
- Offer assistance to team members or cover shifts as necessary.
- Complete assigned reports and meet deadlines.
- Carry out any additional tasks to support the kitchen team and school meal program as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in food service or cleaning is an advantage.
- Strong sense of responsibility and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Comfortable with repetitive duties and following structured routines.
- Basic proficiency in math and computer use.
- Ability to pass background check and fingerprint screening.
- Reliable transportation to the workplace.
- Enjoy working in a school setting and engaging with children.
- Professionalism, inclusivity, and respect toward colleagues and patrons.
Physical and Work Environment
- Capability to stand for entire work shifts and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, reaching, walking, and hand use required.
- Work occurs in a bustling kitchen with moderate noise and high activity.
- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday, with possible occasional extended schedules.
- Potential involvement in company meetings or events.
