Role Overview

Become a vital part of our team as a Food Service Worker, where you will contribute to providing nutritious meals in a warm, clean, and welcoming school cafeteria environment. This full-time position offers an opportunity to support the daily food service operations that benefit students and staff alike.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals using established recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout kitchen and serving areas.
• Ensure serving stations such as lines, salad bars, and milk coolers are appropriately stocked.
• Follow proper food storage, rotation, and sanitation procedures diligently.
• Politely serve meals to students, staff, and visitors.
• Assist with delivery unpacking and inventory organization.
• Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and trash disposal as necessary.
• Observe all relevant health regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
• Support team members or cover shifts when needed to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
• Submit required reports promptly and complete any additional tasks assigned to assist the kitchen team and the school meal program.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Prior experience in food service or cleaning is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong dedication and ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers.
• Comfortable performing repetitive duties in a structured environment.
• Basic proficiency with math and computer operations.
• Must clear a background check and fingerprinting process.
• Reliable transportation is essential.
• Enjoy interacting within a school community and working around children.
• Exhibits respect, inclusiveness, and professionalism with all colleagues and customers.

Physical and Work Environment Expectations

• Ability to stand throughout the entire work shift and occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly perform tasks involving bending, reaching, walking, and hand use.
• Work amid typical kitchen noise levels and a fast-paced setting with frequent movement.
• Maintain a full-time Monday to Friday schedule with occasional additional days.
• Willingness to participate in company meetings or events when required.
