About the Role
Join us as a Foodservice Worker where you will play a vital role in supporting daily cafeteria operations at a school site in Clermont, Florida. This position is well-suited for individuals who are conscientious, dependable team players eager to create a welcoming and clean dining environment for students and staff. Whether you possess prior foodservice experience or are new to the field, you will help prepare, serve, and ensure the smooth running of meal services.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals following established recipes, production records, and safety guidelines.
- Keep the kitchen and service areas clean and safe by adhering to sanitation procedures.
- Stock food service lines, salad bars, and milk coolers efficiently.
- Manage proper food storage, rotation, and handling methods to maintain quality and comply with health standards.
- Provide courteous meal service to students, staff, and visitors.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing inventory supplies.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and trash removal as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members by assisting or covering shifts as needed to maintain continuous service.
- Submit required reports and meet operational deadlines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the kitchen staff and overall school meal program.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or cleaning is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong work ethic and ability to cooperate effectively within a team environment.
- Comfort with performing repetitive tasks and following established routines.
- Basic knowledge of math and computer skills.
- Must successfully pass background checks and fingerprint screening.
- Reliable transportation required to commute to the workplace.
- Enthusiasm for working with children and being part of a school community.
- Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and inclusivity toward colleagues and customers.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand for full shifts and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Regular engagement in activities including bending, reaching, walking, and manual dexterity.
- Tolerance for moderate kitchen noise and constant movement in a fast-paced atmosphere.
- Full-time commitment from Monday through Friday, with some weeks requiring extended hours.
- Participation in company events or meetings as necessary.
