Job description
Position Overview
The Food Services Supervisor is responsible for ensuring seamless team collaboration to deliver exceptional guest service and meet their requirements effectively. This role involves overseeing staff grooming and attire standards, executing both opening and closing duties which include preparation of supplies, cleaning all equipment and areas, securing premises, and ensuring proper storage practices using FIFO. Conducting inventory checks, managing stock requisitions, monitoring dining room operations for seating, service quality, guest safety, and comfort, as well as handling maintenance work orders are key aspects of the job.
Additional Duties
Supporting management through involvement in hiring, training, scheduling, employee evaluations, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching is vital. Serving as the first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment and Open Door Policy while adhering to all company, safety, and security procedures is expected. Reporting accidents or unsafe conditions promptly and completing required safety training and certifications ensures a safe environment.
Maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information while protecting company assets is mandatory. The role demands welcoming guests warmly, anticipating and addressing their needs, assisting guests with disabilities, and expressing sincere appreciation. Effective communication using clear, professional language and fostering positive team relationships to achieve shared goals is encouraged.
Quality and Efficiency
Ensuring compliance with quality standards, proposing improvements to organizational efficiency, productivity, safety, cost savings, and quality are part of the responsibilities. Duties involve reading and verifying information in various formats, visually inspecting equipment for defects, and physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and navigating confined or elevated spaces. Additionally, the supervisor will perform other reasonable job-related tasks as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Minimum education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least two years of relevant work experience in food services.
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience.
- No specific licenses or certifications required.
