Our client operates within the oil and gas drilling sector, delivering both onshore and offshore services including drilling, well construction, rig operations, and related support to the energy industry. Role Summary
The Floorman position supports the Driller and Derrickman in executing drilling tasks safely and efficiently on the rig floor. Responsibilities include handling drill pipes and tubulars, assisting with connections and tripping, maintaining drilling equipment, and ensuring the rig floor is organized, safe, and ready for operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Driller and Derrickman during drilling, tripping, casing, and completion activities.
- Manage drill pipes, collars, tubulars and operate equipment, including slips, elevators, and tongs.
- Assist in making and breaking pipe connections properly.
- Operate manual and powered tongs where authorized and trained.
- Help install, remove, and maintain drilling tools and equipment.
- Inspect tools and equipment regularly before and during operations.
- Participate in rig-up and rig-down tasks.
- Carry out routine cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance of rig equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety on the drill floor and adjacent workspaces.
- Assist with lifting and rigging tasks following approved procedures.
- Report any equipment defects, unsafe conditions, or operational irregularities promptly.
- Attend toolbox talks, safety meetings, drills, and mandatory training sessions.
- Adhere strictly to Permit to Work, Job Safety Analysis (JSA/JHA), and other safety protocols.
- Support well-control and emergency response efforts as needed.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Driller or Rig Management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum educational requirement: Secondary School Certificate, OND, or an equivalent technical qualification.
- Prior experience working on drilling rigs is preferred.
- Background as a Roustabout or similar junior drilling roles is beneficial.
- Relevant training in rig operations or drilling is an advantage.
- Possession of valid offshore safety and medical certificates, where applicable.
- Physical fitness to manage the demanding conditions of rig environments.
Additional Information
The remuneration offered is competitive, including other benefits. Applications are accepted until 30 August 2026, with interviews conducted on a rolling basis until that deadline. Candidates selected will undergo further assessments during the recruitment process.
