About the Role
This position involves live-in housekeeping and nanny duties for a private family, encompassing both domestic cleaning and childcare services. The scope of tasks may vary based upon employer needs, ranging from tidying various household areas to meal preparation and general caretaking.
Key Duties
- Cleaning multiple rooms including bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas, kitchens, and stairways.
- Maintaining and organizing cleaning supplies inventory.
- Updating clients regarding scheduling and any issues affecting existing arrangements.
- Managing household supply stocks such as soap, light bulbs, and toilet paper.
- Basic pet care and routine household tasks that require no specialized training.
- Polishing delicate items like silverware and certain dishes not suitable for dishwashers.
- Sanitizing furniture and immobile household items.
- Dusting various surfaces inside the home including shelves, blinds, and window sills.
- Cleaning floors and carpets using specialized machines like steamers or shampooers; occasional cleaning of walls, ceiling fans, and other hard-to-reach spots on demand.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Preferably a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in housekeeping within a private home caring for children.
- Fundamental understanding of cleaning standards and hygiene practices.
Additional Eligibility Criteria
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with residents, staff, and family.
- Manual dexterity and coordination to operate cleaning equipment efficiently.
- Willingness to perform repetitive tasks even with frequent interruptions.
- The capability to comprehend and follow instructions and work assignments accurately.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including emergencies.
- Patience and tolerance towards residents, family members, and staff.
Compensation and Process
