Floor Care Associate

Job Summary

The Floor Care Associate is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across floor surfaces and restrooms to provide a safe and welcoming environment. This role supports consistent compliance with operational standards to boost customer trust and loyalty, while embracing diversity and fostering inclusiveness within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain orderly and hazard-free conditions across various areas including the sales floor, liquor store, offices, breakrooms, backrooms, training rooms, and restrooms.
• Operate floor care and departmental equipment; apply cleaning tools and chemicals to sweep, vacuum, spot clean carpets, and dispose of trash properly.
• Perform thorough restroom deep cleaning tasks.
• Create a customer-friendly environment that promotes appreciation and confidence, assisting customers in locating or recommending products.
• Ensure adherence to company safety, sanitation, food handling, and productivity standards.
• Comply with food safety regulations, including USDA, COOL, and Department of Agriculture mandates.
• Execute product recalls and withdrawals promptly, securing and removing affected items from customer access.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents, safety risks, or illegal activities such as theft or fraud to store management.
• Ensure wage and hour policy compliance and foster a safety-first culture among associates through ongoing training and enforcement.
• Confirm availability and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment and safety postings; oversee equipment maintenance and corrective action for safety hazards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Authorized to work in the United States or able to obtain authorization.
• Successful clearance of pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication abilities.
• English required; Spanish preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience between zero to three years is desirable.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Regular standing and walking on various floor types; repetitive movements with hands and feet.
• Frequent reaching, carrying, pushing, or lifting loads up to 50 pounds; peak pulling demands up to 250 pounds.
• Occasional sitting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing up to 30 feet.
• Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments spanning temperature extremes, humidity, noise, and cleaning substances.
• Working with hazardous equipment and materials; usage of personal protective gear such as goggles, gloves, and back braces.

Shift and Travel Details

• The position includes varied work shifts.
• Occasional travel is required with no overnight stays.
