Job Overview
The Floor Care Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment across various areas including sales floors, restrooms, and backrooms. This role promotes a safe and welcoming atmosphere to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty while adhering to all company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and safety by keeping sales floors, liquor stores, offices, breakrooms, backrooms, training rooms, and restrooms orderly and hazard-free.
- Operate floor care equipment and handle related tools and chemicals, including sweeping, vacuuming mats and rugs, spot cleaning carpets, and performing deep restroom cleaning.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming environment and assisting customers with product location and recommendations.
- Ensure all hygiene and sanitation standards meet company expectations daily.
- Adhere to safety programs and regulatory compliance, including food safety, USDA and COOL requirements, and execute product recalls promptly and securely.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, illegal activities, and ensure wage and hour regulations are followed.
- Promote a culture of safety by ensuring proper safety training, availability and use of personal protective equipment, and maintaining or reporting equipment condition.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 years and legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Strong customer service skills with excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication abilities.
- Education equivalent to High School diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
- Some supervisory experience preferred.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Must be able to stand or walk on diverse flooring surfaces for extended periods, utilize manual dexterity, and perform repetitive hand/foot movements.
- Frequently required to reach overhead or waist level, carry, push, or lift weights up to 50 lbs, and pull up to 250 lbs.
- Occasional sitting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing up to 30 feet.
- Work may involve exposure to indoor/outdoor, cold, freezing, heated, humid environments, hazardous equipment, sharp objects, loud noise, irritants, dust, fumes, cleaning chemicals, and toxins.
- Use of cleaning equipment, office tools, registers, material handling equipment, and required personal protective gear such as goggles, gloves, and back braces.
Additional Information
- Work shifts vary and may include different scheduled hours.
- Occasional travel with no overnight stays required.
