Job Overview
This role is focused on maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across floor areas and restrooms to ensure a safe, inviting environment that fosters customer trust and loyalty. The position supports diversity and inclusivity by respecting varied team backgrounds and experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep all sales floors, liquor areas, offices, breakrooms, backrooms, and training spaces orderly and hazard-free.
- Operate floor maintenance equipment and utilize appropriate tools and cleaning chemicals effectively.
- Sweep or vacuum mats and carpets, remove stains, and dispose of waste properly.
- Conduct thorough restroom cleaning to uphold hygiene standards.
- Provide a welcoming atmosphere for customers to enhance their sense of value and satisfaction.
- Assist customers in locating products and offer helpful suggestions.
- Maintain adherence to safety, food handling, sanitation, and productivity standards.
- Follow USDA, Department of Agriculture guidelines, and country of origin labeling regulations.
- Execute product recalls promptly, ensuring removed items are inaccessible to customers.
- Support safety programs by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions, accidents, or suspicious activities.
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and promote a safety-oriented culture among staff.
- Oversee proper usage of personal protective equipment and ensure equipment is in safe working order.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 years with legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Completion of pre-employment drug screening and background verification.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; 0 to 3 years of related experience is advantageous.
- Strong customer service aptitude and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to work varied shifts and occasional exposure to physically demanding environments.
Environmental Conditions
- Frequent standing, walking on multiple floor types, manual dexterity, seeing, hearing, and repetitive hand/foot movement.
- Tasks may involve reaching, lifting weights up to 50 lbs, carrying, pushing loads up to 250 lbs, balancing, kneeling, and climbing up to 30 ft.
- Work environment includes indoor and outdoor settings with varying temperatures and humidity levels.
- Exposure to hazards such as slippery floors, hazardous equipment, sharp objects, loud noises, irritants, dust, fumes, cleaning agents, and toxins.
- Use of personal protective gear including goggles, gloves, and back braces is required.
Additional Information
Occasional travel may be required, but overnight stays are not expected. The position involves working varied shifts.
