Flight Scheduler

Role Overview

We are looking for a Flight Scheduler to join our Operations team in Ta' Xbiex, Malta. This vital position focuses on developing and managing the Day 0 and Day 1 operational schedules, aiming to balance efficiency, regulatory adherence, and high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and refine Day 0 and Day 1 flight schedules, confirming all crew pairings and aircraft assignments are compliant and validated.
• Ensure optimal use of crew and aircraft to reduce unnecessary positioning, inefficiencies, and minimize operating costs.
• Monitor crew qualifications, duty limits, endorsements, and ensure adherence to regulatory and legal requirements.
• Coordinate across multiple departments including Operations, Maintenance, Crew Dispatch, and Flight Communications to ensure synchronized scheduling and resolve any issues promptly.
• Address operational disruptions such as irregular operations (IROPS), delays, aircraft on ground (AOG) incidents, and last-minute changes with effective solutions.
• Identify and escalate scheduling risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities to sell off unnecessary resources.
• Maintain clear communication regarding schedule updates and ensure accurate record keeping and handover documentation.
• Collaborate with counterparts in US and European teams to optimize deployment of global fleet and crew resources.
• Handle arrangements for crew travel and accommodation as needed during live scheduling periods.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Background in aviation scheduling, crew planning, or operations control roles.
• In-depth knowledge of crew duty regulations, legalities, and ICAO compliance.
• Strong decision-making skills with the capability to resolve real-time operational challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate among diverse teams.
• Meticulous attention to detail and outstanding organisational skills.
• Familiarity with scheduling or operations software such as LEON or FOS.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and balance competing priorities.

Desirable Experience

• Experience in business aviation, fractional ownership, charter, or commercial airline operations.
• Exposure to international or multi-regional scheduling operations.

Working Conditions

• Work schedule involves a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation.
• Shifts are 12 hours long, covering both daytime and evening periods.
• Flexibility is required to cover weekends and public holidays as necessary.
