Airservices Australia is a government-owned entity charged with the safe and efficient oversight of 11% of the global airspace and delivering aviation rescue and firefighting services at the nation's busiest airports.
Role Overview
The Flight Data Coordinator (FDC) team oversees information management related to domestic computer systems and international Air Navigation Service Providers. The position involves processing operational air traffic data entering and exiting the Brisbane Air Traffic Services Centre that the Eurocat Air Traffic Management system does not automatically handle. This role operates within a 24/7 rotating shift framework.
Key Duties
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of live operational data within the National Airspace System and interconnected international air traffic systems.
- Process air traffic operational information that bypasses automated handling by the Eurocat ATM system.
- Report to the Service Lead with operational accountability to the duty Systems Supervisor.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in analyzing complex information and applying practical solutions in operationally challenging environments.
- Meticulous attention to detail and precision when working with critical data across multiple platforms.
- Ability to operate independently with limited oversight while exercising sound decision-making.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities when liaising with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Capability to prioritize and make prompt decisions in a dynamic live operational setting.
- Must hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency and possess or be eligible for an Australian Security Identification Card (ASIC).
Desired Attributes
- Experience in aviation, air traffic management, defense, emergency services, or other safety-critical sectors is advantageous.
