Role Overview
The Fire Fighting Welder position requires on-site full-time presence in Dammam, delivering welding and installation services for fire protection systems in industrial and commercial environments. Daily responsibilities include fabricating and welding components like steel pipes, brackets, supports, and structural parts following technical drawings and specifications. The role entails assisting installation of fire pumps, sprinkler lines, hydrant systems, and associated equipment while ensuring conformity to safety and fire protection norms.
Key Duties
- Fabricate and weld steel piping, brackets, and supports to project specifications.
- Assist in installing fire pumps, sprinkler systems, and hydrant networks.
- Conduct basic inspections to verify weld quality and workmanship.
- Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate activities.
- Maintain tools and welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Adhere strictly to site safety protocols, including participation in safety meetings.
- Support testing, commissioning, and corrective maintenance of fire protection systems.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in welding techniques such as SMAW and GMAW/MIG along with weld preparation and fabrication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, isometric sketches, and piping layout plans related to fire fighting installations.
- Knowledge of fire fighting system components including sprinkler networks, hydrants, and pump connections.
- Strong awareness of safety practices including usage of personal protective equipment, hot work permits, and confined space precautions.
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities to collaborate with engineering and site teams.
- Relevant vocational or technical certification in welding, fabrication, or pipe fitting preferred.
- Experience in industrial or infrastructure projects focusing on fire protection or mechanical installations is advantageous.
- Physical ability to work on-site under diverse environmental conditions while maintaining accuracy and reliability.
