About the Role
Join the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) in Wellington as a Finance Business Partner supporting the Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery (TWSD) portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Finance in Corporate and Digital Shared Services, you will guide financial strategy development and execution for your portfolios, ensuring alignment with MBIE's strategic objectives. You will collaborate with General Managers and provide expert financial advice, influence senior leaders, and ensure tight compliance and best practices in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with TWSD portfolio General Managers and Head of Finance to shape and deliver financial strategies.
- Advise business units to support achievement of strategic financial results.
- Provide assurance that financial management processes meet legislative requirements and best practice standards.
- Deliver budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting and analysis.
- Influence senior stakeholders and present financial insights accessibly to non-finance audiences.
Candidate Profile and Required Experience
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CAANZ) or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in financial management and reporting within large, complex organisations.
- Skilled at driving results and handling diverse stakeholders' interests.
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities to effectively convey financial information.
- Strong analytical, strategic planning, and commercial acumen.
- Collaborative team player comfortable engaging at senior leadership levels.
- Right to live and work in New Zealand.

Compensation & Benefits
