Scope of Work
The organization is assembling a dedicated and enduring Field Service Team to support installation, commissioning, shutdowns, maintenance, and replacement activities involving heavy-duty gas turbines, aeroderivative gas turbines, and centrifugal or reciprocal compressors. This team will be deployed continuously for projects worldwide—across the Middle East, Asia, the Americas, and Europe—providing robust support in challenging and dynamic operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and carry out on-site activities including installation, commissioning, routine and major/minor inspections (such as combustion, hot gas path, major outages) on GE gas turbines and compressors.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, fluid-related, and operational issues by utilizing technical documents, drawings, and diagnostic equipment to identify root causes and apply effective remedies.
- Offer technical leadership and direction to craft personnel, subcontractors, and customer staff during outage procedures.
- Execute precise measurements, borescope inspections, and laser alignment tasks, and produce detailed and timely field service reports documenting findings, work performed, and client recommendations.
- Contribute to outage planning by defining scopes, specifying necessary tooling, outlining required spare parts, and estimating labor demands.
- Enforce strict compliance with company and client Health, Safety, and Environmental policies; lead daily safety briefings and complete Job Safety Analyses before starting work.
- Serve as the company representative on-site, advising customers on optimal equipment operation, maintenance scheduling, and performance enhancement.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrable, practical experience working with GE Gas Turbines (including Frame 5, 6, 7, 9, or LM series) and/or GE/Nuovo Pignone centrifugal compressors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and auxiliary systems related to turbines and compressors.
- Familiarity with GE turbine control systems such as Speedtronic Mark V, VI, VIe and vibration monitoring tools like Bently Nevada.
- Proficiency in using borescope inspection equipment and preparing corresponding reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related technical field; alternatively, substantial direct field experience may compensate for formal education requirements.
- At least 5 years working as a Field Service Engineer, Technical Advisor, or Millwright specializing in heavy rotating machinery.
Work Location
