Field Service Engineer

About the Role and Company

A global semiconductor equipment company is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their Dublin-based team. This is a permanent, full-time position working onsite from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to customer service calls to diagnose and resolve issues effectively.
• Assist with tool installations at customer locations.
• Support software engineers by aiding in software coding and modifications.
• Provide remote consultation and advice to customers; attend to emergency situations or schedule onsite repairs of company products.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Set up and oversee a local maintenance service framework.
• Deliver training to customers on the operation and upkeep of company products.
• Act as a liaison between customers and the applications programming team for requested changes.
• Submit timely reports on service applications and activities to management.
• Work to minimize system downtime and disruptions.
• Maintain effective communication with headquarters engineers to address technical and product-related matters.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar field service engineer role.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Authorized to work in Ireland.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Attributes

• Willing and able to undertake frequent travel, including overnight stays by car and air.
• Exhibit strong professionalism and capability to operate independently in customer-facing scenarios.
• Availability to work on weekends occasionally, sometimes with short notice.

Additional Information

Only candidates shortlisted for further consideration will be contacted. Salary ranges from €65,000 to €100,000 annually, dependent on experience.
