Maintenance Engineer

Job Overview

Hotel Sidh Vedantha seeks a competent and dependable Maintenance Engineer to manage the hotel's engineering and upkeep activities. The role involves ensuring uninterrupted operation of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen equipment, and other hotel facilities while maintaining rigorous safety standards and minimizing equipment failures.

Primary Duties

• Supervise daily maintenance and engineering functions throughout the hotel.
• Inspect, service, and repair electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, air conditioners, pumps, motors, and various equipment.
• Perform preventive upkeep of guest rooms, kitchens, banquet areas, public spaces, and back-of-house facilities.
• Address maintenance complaints promptly and ensure timely solutions to concerns raised by guests and hotel departments.
• Evaluate performance and upkeep of DG sets, elevators, fire safety apparatus, water pumps, boilers, and other engineering equipment.
• Collaborate with external vendors and technical support providers for servicing and repairs.
• Maintain detailed logs, equipment documentation, checklists, and preventive maintenance timetables.
• Ensure optimal functioning of kitchen appliances, refrigeration units, exhaust systems, and other food and beverage facilities.
• Monitor consumption of electricity, water, fuel, and other utilities; identify opportunities for cost-efficiency.
• Ensure strict compliance with fire, electrical, environmental safety, and hotel maintenance regulations.
• Keep sufficient inventory of engineering tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
• Lead and supervise maintenance technicians ensuring safe and effective completion of assignments.
• Coordinate with housekeeping, front office, food and beverage, and other departments to minimize operational disturbances.
• Carry out periodic inspections to detect potential equipment issues and implement corrective measures.
• Adhere to hotel SOPs and safety protocols in all maintenance transactions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Two to five years of pertinent experience in hotel engineering or facility maintenance is desirable.
• Proficient knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and general building upkeep.
• Familiarity with fire safety mechanisms, DG sets, lifts, pumps, and kitchen machinery.
• Strong troubleshooting aptitude and preventive maintenance capabilities.
• Good leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in record-keeping, inventory management, and adherence to safety standards.
• Willingness to work shifts and respond to emergency maintenance calls.
