Technology Director - Retail & Digital

Job Overview

We are seeking a Technology Director to spearhead the IT strategy, technology roadmap, and digital transformation efforts within the retail and digital domains. The successful candidate will ensure alignment with business expansion, omnichannel retail development, and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the full technology function encompassing Applications, Data & Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Software Engineering, and E-Commerce.
• Design and implement the IT operating model, organizational structure for technology, talent acquisition strategies, and succession planning throughout all technical areas.
• Direct enterprise architecture projects to maintain scalable, secure, and cohesive technology platforms across the company.
• Manage SAP S/4HANA systems and its integrations with POS, mobile POS, CRM, e-commerce, warehouse management, supply chain, and marketplace platforms.
• Control application lifecycle management for enterprise applications including SAP, POS, MPOS, CRM, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, customer data platforms, and digital commerce solutions.
• Implement and uphold enterprise-wide standards for data governance, data quality, data security, reporting, and analytics.
• Lead teams specializing in Data Science, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Analytics to provide advanced analytics, forecasting, personalized customer experiences, and optimized operations.
• Develop AI strategies incorporating Generative AI adoption, AI governance policies, security protocols, and enterprise productivity tools.
• Oversee development and maintenance of e-commerce platforms, mobile apps, websites, omnichannel functionality, CRM, loyalty programs, and customer engagement systems.
• Ensure high availability, robust performance, and resilience of critical systems including SAP, POS, and digital commerce infrastructure.
• Drive cybersecurity initiatives incorporating secure-by-design principles, risk management, regulatory compliance, disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure robustness.
• Supervise software engineering processes including application development, system integration, DevOps practices, open-source adoption, code quality assurance, and secure coding standards.
• Manage strategic technology projects and vendor relationships, ensuring successful delivery, cost containment, governance, and measurable business benefits.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience acting as IT Director, Head of Technology, CIO, or a similar senior leadership role managing large-scale technology teams.
• Significant background in retail, omnichannel retail, consumer goods, e-commerce, FMCG, or related sectors.
• Demonstrated success in leading enterprise IT strategy, digital transformation, and technology modernization projects.
• Extensive experience managing diverse technology domains including Applications, Data & Analytics, AI, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Software Engineering, and E-Commerce.
• Hands-on expertise with SAP S/4HANA platforms, their integration with POS, CRM, warehouse and supply chain systems, and digital commerce tools.
• Comprehensive understanding of enterprise architecture design, application governance, cloud technologies, scalability, and integration frameworks.
• Proven leadership in Data Science, Data Engineering, BI, Analytics, AI adoption including data governance and Generative AI.
• Knowledgeable in cybersecurity protocols, risk management, compliance, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning.
• Experience executing large technology transformation programs, vendor management, and delivering projects on budget and on schedule.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, people leadership, organizational development, and change management capabilities.
• Excellent commercial awareness with capacity to optimize technology investments for tangible business outcomes.
