Overview
The Field Inventory Auditor role involves verifying merchandise and cash within company stores by conducting physical counts using handheld technology. This position requires independent work with minimal supervision, operating in a fast-paced environment while following safety and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct physical inventory of merchandise and cash using handheld computers.
- Report pricing errors and remove expired or out-of-code merchandise to store management.
- Count and document cash, checks, food stamps, money orders, lottery ticket inventory, and bank deposits.
- Verify gasoline inventory by measuring fuel tanks and checking for water contamination.
- Perform compliance surveys to ensure adherence to operational and financial standards.
- Follow safety protocols and company regulations consistently.
- Manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic work environment.
- Contribute teamwork by supporting related assignments and goals as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience in inventory auditing or retail work within convenience stores.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record and current liability insurance mandatory.
- Willingness to occasionally travel overnight as required.
Physical and Work Environment
- Capability to sit, talk, listen, handle objects, stand, walk, reach, and lift items up to 25 pounds.
- Typical working conditions involve moderate noise levels and a mix of natural and fluorescent lighting.
