Job Overview
As a Fiber Field Engineer at ACT Fibernet, you will be responsible for the installation, upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of fiber-optic broadband networks. This role requires onsite visits to customer locations and network sites to guarantee seamless connectivity and resolve any technical problems, thus maintaining optimal network performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and activate fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband services at customer premises.
- Execute fiber optic cable laying, routing, termination, and internal wiring tasks.
- Perform fiber splicing and conduct basic fiber-optic testing procedures.
- Resolve issues such as fiber cuts, weak signals, connectivity problems, and other network faults.
- Utilize specialized tools including OTDR, power meter, visual fault locator (VFL), and fusion splicer as necessary.
- Attend customer premises for installations and handle complaint resolutions effectively.
- Inspect and maintain network hardware such as ONT/ONU devices, routers, and connectors.
- Detect last-mile fiber network faults and coordinate corrective actions promptly.
- Ensure all installations adhere strictly to ACT Fibernet's quality and safety protocols.
- Record and update job progress and service information using the company's mobile application.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all installation work, repair activities, and equipment usage.
- Travel within assigned territories to service customer and network needs.
Work Location
This position requires onsite visits around Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, within the designated service area.
Compensation
The monthly remuneration for this position ranges from 20,000 to 35,000 INR.
