F&B Hostess

Position Overview

The F&B Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests, warmly welcoming and assisting them throughout their dining experience. Responsibilities include seating guests appropriately by checking table availability, ensuring all table settings are correct and clean, and managing seating arrangements for groups with special requirements. Attention is given to maintaining cleanliness of menus and work areas, as well as monitoring the dining room to uphold guest comfort and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly greet guests and determine the number in their party.
• Escort guests to clean and available tables, assist with seating arrangements and chairs.
• Ensure place settings include clean silverware, napkins, and other standard items.
• Check that menus are current, clean, and wrinkle-free.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the dining area by practicing clean-as-you-go methods.
• Oversee dining room seating availability, guest safety, and well-being.
• Adhere closely to company safety and security protocols, promptly reporting incidents or hazards.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality regarding company information.
• Use clear and professional communication with guests and coworkers; answer telephones with proper etiquette.
• Collaborate with team members to meet shared goals and respond constructively to concerns.
• Perform tasks such as standing, walking, sitting for extended durations and handling objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
• Carry out additional job duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• No prior experience required in a related role or supervisory position.
• No licenses or certifications necessary.
