About the Role
The Factory & Production Manager will oversee the comprehensive production operations of a marble manufacturing facility. This role involves managing the entire production cycle and materials to ensure smooth workflow, superior quality, punctual delivery, and adherence to safety and operational policies. The focus lies in effectively planning, organizing, and controlling production activities to meet organizational goals while optimizing resources and minimizing expenses.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategically plan, schedule, and coordinate production processes, including cutting, polishing, edging, fabrication, and finishing, ensuring timely execution aligned with delivery deadlines.
- Maximize machine use and decrease downtime across various equipment.
- Choose appropriate materials in adequate quantities to fulfill project requirements economically and effectively.
- Set and uphold quality controls for marble slabs, tiles, and bespoke items through regular inspections, correcting defects and non-conformities promptly.
- Lead and manage a team of production supervisors, machine operators, technicians, and laborers by delegating tasks, monitoring performance, and promoting safety, discipline, and collaboration.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for cutting machines, polishing lines, CNC machines, and other factory equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
- Oversee inventory levels for raw materials, consumables, and tools, ensuring timely procurement and maintaining stock accuracy.
- Enforce health and safety regulations, conducting regular training and maintaining an organized, secure workplace environment.
- Prepare comprehensive production reports and documentation detailing output, waste, machine performance, workforce productivity, and costing for pricing and project scheduling purposes.
Performance Indicators
- Reduce overall order cycle time from receipt to delivery, enhancing customer satisfaction and resource utilization.
- Decrease cost per unit manufactured by controlling direct and indirect production expenses.
- Lower waste percentages in fabrication while promoting waste reusage and recycling to generate revenue.
- Maintain equipment readiness through efficient maintenance, aiming to reduce maintenance costs.
