The Executive Director, Software Engineering role is a senior leadership position charged with shaping enterprise software engineering vision, strategy, and operating models across SGX’s technology estate to ensure security, scalability, and future readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the enterprise engineering vision and transform the software delivery processes across SGX Technology.
• Lead the development of enterprise-wide software architecture strategies and platform evolution.
• Define and implement technology organization-wide security and engineering risk management strategies.
• Oversee quality engineering improvements and delivery assurance strategies across the technology organization.
• Establish system integration and interoperability frameworks at the enterprise level.
• Guide operational resilience and service reliability initiatives within the software development lifecycle.
• Implement observability practices and production support strategies to uphold excellence in service ownership.
• Champion productivity enhancements through automation and AI, steering investment priorities accordingly.
• Lead cultural and workforce development efforts to cultivate long-term engineering capabilities.
• Innovate software delivery models around AI-native operations and ecosystem capabilities.
• Serve as a senior technology leader, collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to influence strategic decisions and position engineering as a competitive advantage.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Significant experience in senior software or platform engineering leadership managing multiple teams and enterprise platforms in complex, high-availability contexts.
• Proven success in defining engineering direction and translating strategy into scalable governance and operating models for platform evolution.
• Expertise in modern distributed systems, microservices architectures, service mesh technologies, and observability tools.
• Strong cloud platform knowledge including AWS EKS, Azure AKS, and Google GKE.
• Advanced understanding of Site Reliability Engineering concepts such as incident management, chaos engineering, and capacity planning.
• Experience enhancing operational resilience and elevating service maturity for mission-critical regulated platforms.
• Effective leadership and communication skills with demonstrated ability to mentor senior engineering leaders and influence executive-level technology decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, ICT, or related fields; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
• Familiarity with financial market infrastructure domains such as securities, derivatives trading, clearing, settlement, and exchange systems.
