Job description
Role Overview
The Executive Chef will oversee timely preparation, freshness, and quality standards of all dishes served. This position requires leading and coordinating kitchen staff activities along with maintaining high levels of hygiene and cleanliness of tools and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing tasks and schedules of cooks and kitchen crew.
- Enforcing hygiene protocols and regularly inspecting kitchen equipment for cleanliness.
- Creating new recipe ideas, planning diverse menus, and designing appealing presentations.
- Analyzing and adjusting staffing to align with service demand, operational needs, and budgetary goals.
- Recruiting and training kitchen personnel including cooks, food preparers, and dishwashers.
- Conducting administrative duties such as inventory tracking, placing orders, and ensuring required supplies are available.
- Setting benchmarks for staff performance and monitoring adherence.
- Collecting and responding to guest feedback concerning food and service quality, resolving any issues.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of culinary education.
- At least 5 years experience in a comparable executive chef role.
- Deep expertise in professional culinary principles and best practices.
- Strong capabilities in managing kitchen staff effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of back-of-house operations, ordering procedures, and inventory management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Capacity to adhere to deadlines and work flexible hours including on-call shifts, weekends, holidays, and after-hours.
