Role Overview
The Estimator collaborates closely with sales personnel and purchasing professionals to develop and oversee performance guarantees for implemented products. The role involves managing small project teams and preparing pricing proposals for turnkey tender opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply practical experience in Mechanical, HVAC, and cleanroom projects, preferably within industries like semiconductor, pharmaceuticals, or data centers.
- Analyze tender documentation, measure quantities from drawings, generate bills of quantities, and estimate tender costs using unit rates and lump sums.
- Develop pricing benchmarks and standardize pricing formats for consistency.
- Prepare tender documentation, assess bids, and recommend appropriate contractors for HVAC, Mechanical, and Pipework projects.
- Formulate proposal price forms for formal submission.
- Compile commercial qualifications and manpower loading schedules.
- Create cash flow projections and evaluate commercial risks and opportunities.
- Possess detailed knowledge of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractual terms.
- Participate in commercial negotiation meetings with clients and subcontractors.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a Degree or Diploma coupled with at least 5 years of relevant Mechanical or HVAC industry experience.
- Demonstrates strong commercial acumen and expertise in financial risk management.
- Has a proven history of managing and successfully delivering large commercial projects.
- Exhibits excellent stakeholder engagement and influence capabilities at various organizational levels.
- Communicates complex technical details clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excels in making informed decisions and resolving problems effectively.
