Role Overview

This Estimator position is a full-time, on-site role based in Navan. The Estimator will conduct on-location visits to take precise measurements of spaces intended for carpet and flooring installations, assess site conditions, and collect necessary details to prepare thorough quotations. Key tasks involve determining material quantities, labor estimates, and total project costs, then creating clear and detailed proposal documents for customers and installation crews. The role includes direct engagement with clients to clarify estimates, address queries, and update costs when project parameters shift. Routine duties also encompass collaborating with suppliers, maintaining meticulous records of quotes and active projects, and aiding in scheduling installations to assure timely and budget-conscious delivery.

Candidate Qualifications

• Strong numerical aptitude and analytical capability to measure areas accurately, calculate required materials, and develop precise cost estimates.
• Attention to detail with competency in interpreting basic floor plans or schematics related to flooring arrangements.
• Effective and professional communication skills to interact with clients, explaining quotes clearly and working cooperatively with installation teams and vendors.
• Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple estimates simultaneously, pursue leads, and support scheduling tasks.
• Ability to perform on-site work, including traveling to customer locations, assessing the environment, and ensuring detailed and accurate measurements.
• Familiarity with standard computer applications such as email, spreadsheets, and estimating or point-of-sale software for documentation and quote management.
• Previous experience in flooring, construction, or a related field, or prior exposure to estimating or sales support functions is advantageous.
• Possession of a valid driving license and capability to travel locally for site visits, coupled with a customer-oriented and professional attitude.
