Overview

Our client, a family-owned leader in construction solutions based in Smithfield, NSW, is looking for a dedicated Estimator to join their team full-time from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. This role balances technical estimating responsibilities with client engagement, offering career growth within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage B2B, commercial, civil, builder, and strata inquiries by conducting plan takeoffs and calculating material specifications.
• Provide value-engineered solutions while ensuring profit margins are maintained.
• Engage proactively with clients by following up on quotes, addressing technical questions, handling objections, and guiding clients toward mutually advantageous commercial outcomes.
• Coordinate project handover by issuing purchase orders, finalizing subcontractor rates, executing contracts, and transferring active site execution to the Commercial Project Lead.

Candidate Profile

• 1 to 3+ years’ experience in construction estimating, preferably in civil, landscaping, building, specialist trades, or subcontracting sectors.
• Strong ability to read and interpret plans with meticulous attention to detail for accurate pricing.
• Confident, proactive communicator comfortable with phone interactions and developing consultative client relationships.
• Capable of thriving in an agile, close-knit work setting with exposure to various business functions.

• This is a permanent, full-time position based in Smithfield, NSW.
