Overview
A Tier 3 principal contractor based in Inner Sydney is seeking an Estimator to join their team and contribute to commercial construction projects. The company is Australian-owned with a strong national footprint, specializing in mid-sized commercial construction projects up to $10 million in value.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop competitive tenders starting from first principles.
- Engage and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms.
- Perform risk assessments by analyzing project plans and schedules.
- Evaluate scope of work to estimate costs related to labour, machinery, subcontractors, duration, and other factors influencing project expenses.
- Establish project programs and budgets from structural phases through to final handover.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- Proven experience estimating construction projects valued between $1 million and $10 million.
- Previous exposure to construction, fit-out, and refurbishment projects is highly desirable.
- Comprehensive understanding of the New South Wales construction market, including knowledge of subcontractor networks.
