The company is seeking an Estimator to join its Preconstruction team based in Durham. This role supports diverse projects across Industrial, Commercial, Manufacturing, Health, Education, and Residential sectors, with project values ranging from £5 million to £150 million.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze tender documents thoroughly, evaluate risks and opportunities, and contribute to developing bid strategies.
• Perform precise quantity take-offs and prepare comprehensive cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to gather quotations and compare costs effectively.
• Collaborate closely with construction and commercial teams to align on project delivery methods and objectives.
• Generate tender handover packages for projects that are successfully tendered and assist project teams during preconstruction phases.
• Utilize software tools including Conquest, Bluebeam/CostX, and Microsoft Excel to facilitate estimating activities and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated background in construction estimating with familiarity in cost planning and managing two-stage tenders.
• Solid knowledge of construction procedures and commercial principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software such as Conquest and Bluebeam/CostX.
• Understanding of contemporary construction contracts and procurement processes.
