About the Role
Transport for NSW is seeking a dedicated Estimator to join their West Region team based in Orange, NSW. This permanent full-time position focuses on supporting the estimating team and Project Managers in preparing detailed cost estimates for transport infrastructure projects and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in producing accurate and high-quality cost estimates for various transport-related construction and maintenance projects, with an emphasis on roads and bridges.
- Analyze project requirements, including scope of work, risk assessments, design documents, and schedules, to enhance the precision of cost estimations.
- Support ongoing improvements in estimating procedures, procurement processes, and project lifecycle activities through performance reviews, lessons learned documentation, reporting, and market research.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders to stay informed about current market rates, commercial innovations, and benchmark costs, ensuring competitiveness and best practices.
Candidate Profile
- Holds tertiary qualifications in disciplines such as civil or structural engineering, project management, quantity surveying, or possesses equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in transport infrastructure construction or maintenance, specifically in roads and bridges, with strong technical skills in interpreting design drawings and understanding project cost structures.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and spend time away from home as required by project demands.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an analytical mindset, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and integrity in work conduct.
