Engineering Product Lead – Trading Platforms

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Engineering Product Lead specializing in Trading Platforms to spearhead the product direction, technical execution, and continuous advancement of our trading platform ecosystem. This senior leadership position bridges Product, Engineering, and Trading domains. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in electronic trading and brokerage technologies coupled with strong product leadership skills and a capability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams for translating intricate business and trading needs into scalable, robust, and commercially viable technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Set and be accountable for the product vision, strategy, and roadmap pertaining to our trading platforms and the broader technology ecosystem.
• Convert business, trading, and client requirements into well-defined product features, technical specifications, and prioritized delivery plans.
• Manage the complete product lifecycle from ideation, requirement gathering, through engineering implementation, launch, user adoption, and iterative improvements.
• Enhance platform functionalities to deliver superior trading experiences, optimize execution quality, scale operations efficiently, and increase commercial gains.
• Identify and champion opportunities for platform modernization, automation, and innovation.
• Define relevant KPIs and utilize data from platform usage, clients, and operations to guide product prioritization and decision-making.

• Provide leadership to Engineering, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and UI/UX teams to align product strategy with technical delivery.
• Collaborate closely with engineering leadership to ensure sustainable, scalable technical solutions that fulfill product goals.
• Lead key initiatives across pricing engines, execution processes, order management, trading middleware, FIX connectivity, APIs, and market infrastructure.
• Detail requirements, user journeys, acceptance criteria, and delivery priorities for engineering squads.
• Strike a balance between developing new features while maintaining platform stability, minimizing technical debt, and enhancing resilience and scalability.
• Contribute to architectural and technological decisions influencing the long-term growth of the trading platform ecosystem.
• Drive disciplined release management including planning, testing, implementation, and deployment of platform updates.

• Guide the evolution and integration of both third-party and proprietary trading platforms such as MT4, MT5, web, and mobile interfaces along with associated trading services.
• Lead improvements covering pricing mechanisms, liquidity pooling, execution processes, and order routing.
• Manage product specifications for APIs and FIX connectivity that support institutional, professional, and algorithmic traders.
• Collaborate with trading and tech teams on liquidity providers, prime broker relationships, and market connectivity endeavors.
• Facilitate the onboarding of new asset categories, trading functionalities, and execution options.
• Ensure the platform architecture and workflow designs suit high-volume, low-latency, and critical trading operations.

• Serve as the principal liaison between Trading, Product, Engineering, Risk, Operations, Compliance, and senior management.
• Establish and nurture strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to define priorities and resolve conflicts.
• Coordinate strategic projects involving internal engineering teams, external technology providers, liquidity sources, and vendors.
• Communicate product vision, progress on roadmap, dependencies, and risk factors transparently to senior leadership.
• Mentor and lead Product Managers, Product Owners, and team members in managing the trading technology portfolio.

Experience & Qualifications

• Possesses 10-15+ years in trading technology, electronic trading, brokerage, capital markets, fintech, or related sectors.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing products or technology platforms within online brokerage, trading platform, or financial markets firms.
• Comprehensive understanding of the entire electronic trading lifecycle.
• Proven track record managing complex tech products from strategic planning through engineering execution and production deployment.
• In-depth familiarity with MT4 and/or MT5 platforms and contemporary web/mobile trading solutions.
• Experience integrating FIX, APIs, trading middleware, and third-party trading tools.
• Strong grasp of pricing dynamics, liquidity aggregation, order management, trade execution, and market connectivity.
• Exposure to working with liquidity providers, prime brokers, trading venues, and technology partners is highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of financial and operational risk management in leveraged trading contexts.
• Strong leadership skills managing cross-functional engineering and product teams while influencing senior stakeholders.
• Experience delivering extensive platform modernization or transformation initiatives.
