Role Overview

The Data Engineering Manager will be a full-time dedicated member of PetraTech, the company's internal technology division. This role entails managing various recurring data integrations, process automations, and overseeing the core data platform. The incumbent will design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automated workflows across multiple systems, enhancing efficiency throughout the firm. The position is fully remote, preferably based near the US East Coast to align with US business hours for collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and support automated daily data pipelines interfacing with fund accounting platforms via API.
• Automate reconciliations between document management and accounting systems, including data extraction, transformation, and recording from diverse sources.
• Establish and manage automated daily API data feeds from source systems into portfolio and investment accounting tools.
• Contribute to the stewardship of the Snowflake data platform, focusing on pipeline development, data integrity, and integrations as new sources are onboarded.
• Create and sustain SQL and Python-driven automation solutions within a Microsoft 365 environment.
• Take full ownership of deployed processes, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and incremental improvements post-production.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field is required; postgraduate degrees are advantageous but optional.
• More than four years of professional experience in data engineering, data science or machine learning engineering environments.
• Proficient in SQL and Python programming languages.
• Practical experience with automating file transfers and data integrations using SFTP and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity working within Microsoft 365 ecosystems.
• Exposure to Snowflake data warehousing is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Background in financial services or fund administration is a plus but not essential.
• Capable of independently managing and owning a set of production processes with minimal oversight.

Compensation

The base salary for this position ranges from $122,000 to $183,000 annually. Exact remuneration will be determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
