Role Overview
The Engineering Manager leads the engineering and maintenance team to ensure that brewery operations are safe, dependable, and efficient. As a key member of the leadership team, you will steer performance improvements and cultivate a capable team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage engineering and maintenance functions to maintain safe and reliable brewery operations
- Develop and implement both short-term (1-year) and long-term (3-year) maintenance strategies
- Participate actively in the brewery’s leadership team frameworks
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives through Heineken’s World Class Manufacturing programme
- Oversee maintenance processes, systems, and performance metrics
- Administer maintenance budgets, supplier relationships, and service partnerships
- Lead safety, food safety, and environmental programs and compliance
- Support initiatives targeting water, energy conservation, and sustainability improvements
- Ensure adherence to New Zealand laws and engineering standards
- Manage maintenance scheduling, planning, and inventory of spare parts
- Drive successful delivery of site and CAPEX projects valued up to $1 million
- Enhance collaboration among operations, procurement, and engineering departments
Candidate Profile
- Holds an engineering degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
- Demonstrated leadership experience within manufacturing or operational environments
- Strong background in maintenance or engineering, with FMCG industry experience advantageous
- Experienced in leading and developing high-performing teams
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance planning and system management
- A mindset geared towards continuous improvement (Lean, TPM or related methodologies)
- Experienced in project management and delivery
