Role Description and Responsibilities

• Lead and guide engineering discussions and decision-making within the platform team.
• Develop and implement engineering plans for owned domains.
• Promote and enforce engineering best practices across the team.
• Ensure operational and engineering hygiene of production systems in the team’s responsibility.
• Accountable for business health related to the team’s outputs.
• Critically challenge business and product teams on outcomes; translate feedback into actionable execution plans.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing engineering team.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders including business, product, operations, and external vendors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing complex solutions, especially large-scale distributed systems.
• Proven experience building and managing productive software development teams.
• Ability to oversee design and architecture of multiple subsystems collaboratively with senior peers.
• Educational background including BTech, MTech, or PhD in Computer Science or related disciplines (or equivalent).
• 8 to 10 years of software development experience with minimum 4 years in leadership roles.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
• Experience working in startups or fast-paced environments is an advantage.
