Organisational Context

The Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS) unit under the Global Business Unit Land and Air Systems focuses on air traffic management (ATM), unmanned traffic management (UTM), security, and digital aviation solutions for commercial and defence clients. Managing 11% of global airspace and generating revenues exceeding 500 million Euros globally, AMS is a leader in airspace management. The Singapore branch primarily supports key ATM solutions—TopSKY-ATC(HE) and LORADS-III.

Role Purpose

This position supports creating the Engineering Environment (E2) in Singapore for the AMS Centre of Competence while collaborating with colleagues in Australia. The Product Owner will spearhead efforts to migrate Engineering Environment capabilities to the Cloud and assist in evolving the organisation into a data-driven entity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure operational support at stipulated service levels for the Engineering Factories both on-premises and cloud-based.
  • Lead planning, estimation, and management of build activities aligned with strategic business priorities.
  • Coordinate deployment, configuration, and administration of networks, environments, and tooling with IS/IT, ECC, and TDF while complying with local security policies.
  • Manage software licenses, including commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and open-source software (OSS), according to AMS headquarters' standards.
  • Collaborate with the AMS Engineering Environment Manager for APAC to identify local requirements and contribute to strategic roadmaps.
  • Assess and prioritize features to align product backlog with business goals and enhance value delivery.
  • Oversee product release planning and communicate delivery timelines for new capabilities.
  • Foster cross-discipline cooperation among systems, software, hardware, and infrastructure engineering teams, facilitating user feedback demos.
  • Support project transitions to new Engineering Environment solutions.
  • Drive transformation towards agile methodologies, platform modernization, cloud adoption, and security compliance.
  • Effectively communicate and manage stakeholder expectations while adapting the roadmap to changing conditions.
  • Track progress using measurable metrics, manage complexity, and keep the backlog prioritized and manageable.
  • Stay current with industry trends, customer needs, group initiatives, and technological innovations to maintain competitive products.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience in large international organizations and managing complex projects.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean, and an understanding of Agile culture.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based software engineering environments.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Strong coaching, stakeholder management, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Capacity to handle complexity, make independent decisions, and exhibit sound judgment.

  • Experience in agile software development practices.
  • Cloud networking expertise.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity concepts including risk assessments, threat modeling, and cybersecurity best practices.
