Engineer, Digital Design Verification

About the Role

Join Semtech's Signal Integrity Product Business Unit located in Ottawa, specializing in high-performance Signal Integrity ICs for data communications and video broadcast sectors. This position involves working collaboratively with digital, analog, and physical design teams to develop integrated mixed-signal ICs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead functional verification of high-speed digital circuits using constrained random verification methodologies, accounting for 50% of duties.
• Engage in behavioral modeling of analog circuits and mixed-level simulation of analog/digital circuits (10%).
• Develop product and technical documentation (5%).
• Assist in preparing project plans and schedules (2%).
• Provide technical leadership and oversee verification tasks and resource allocation within the project team (5%).
• Collaborate with analog engineers, firmware engineers, system engineers, and marketing to ensure designs meet customer and performance criteria (8%).
• Work alongside Validation, Test, and Product Engineers to support product validation and qualification (5%).
• Mentor and guide fellow Engineers (5%).
• Continuously improve design verification processes and productivity, including reviewing and enhancing verification methodologies (10%).

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient in constrained random verification methodologies such as UVM, OVM, AVM, or VMM.
• Experience with object-oriented programming, preferably SystemVerilog.
• Familiarity with programming and scripting languages including Python, TCL, Perl, and C.
• Comfortable working with both PC and Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Strong foundation in digital verification techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, creativity, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
