Job description
Role Overview
The Engine Storekeeper is responsible for managing and supervising the loading, storage, discharge, and integrity of technical department stores using AMOS System and MMS. This role involves maintaining an accurate, up-to-date inventory and ensuring that par stock levels are sustained. Additionally, the Storekeeper oversees safety, environmental, and sanitation standards within the stores according to company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate data entry into the AMOS System related to goods embarked onboard and their distribution across appropriate departments.
- Monitor inventory levels to maintain them within acceptable or par stock values.
- Track consumable waste and spoilage onboard, control inventory through joint spot-checks with department heads, and report any discrepancies along with explanations.
- Manage the control and monitoring of items designated to be returned to vendors.
- Verify that all documentation complies with Customs regulations and company standards.
- File inventory lists, invoices, delivery notes, and landing manifests systematically.
- Oversee stores as per Standard Procedure 09.04.01.
- Conduct scheduled and continuous stock counts adhering to company requirements, reporting results weekly to the office; coordinate inventory counts for other departments upon request.
- Provide detailed stock inventories upon requests from Chief Engineer or Staff Captain.
- Monitor slow-moving goods and promptly inform relevant sectors.
Qualifications and Language Skills
- Fluent spoken and written English, as it is the working and safety language.
- Italian language skills, spoken and written, considered a significant advantage.
- Proficiency in other major languages is an additional benefit.
Compliance and Requirements
- Full compliance with the safety, health, and physical requirements mandated by the Law Flag State regarding the ship.
- Possession of documentation consistent with STCW 95 standards.
