Laundry Attendant

Role Purpose and Responsibilities

The Laundry Attendant oversees the main laundry operations, ensuring proficient and safe handling of all equipment to deliver superior quality service.

• Manages and monitors the functioning of all laundry machinery, promptly reporting any malfunction or damage.
• Demonstrates flexibility to learn and safely operate machinery to maximize operational efficiency and output quality.
• Adheres to Public Health standards, consistently wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment during shifts.
• Identifies and reports any uncalibrated equipment or accidental damages to maintain equipment integrity.
• Documents guest and colleague items received that already have defects or damage prior to processing.
• Follows an established rotation schedule across equipment and shifts to sustain smooth and consistent workflow.
• Ensures accurate sorting, tagging, and delivery of laundry items per protocols.
• Supports additional duties such as assisting with luggage handling and Suite Host support during embarkation, under guidance of the Housekeeping Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of secondary education (High School diploma or equivalent) is preferred.
• Prior experience on cruise ships in a similar laundry role is advantageous.
• Physical capability for repetitive movements, climbing, bending, and lifting heavy items as required for safety onboard.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential; knowledge of other European languages is a plus.

Additional Requirements

• Possession of valid passport, visas, and required certificates for departure and entry into cruise destinations.
