Team and Role
The People Experience team crafts the candidate and employee journey across eBay, facilitating talent acquisition, learning and development, compensation, benefits, employee services, technology, and culture initiatives that enhance business outcomes and employee success.
As an Employee Relations Partner on this team, you will be a subject matter expert in handling complex and sensitive employee matters across multiple European countries. You will collaborate closely with managers, employees, People Business Partners, Legal, Centres of Excellence, Works Councils, and external partners to manage risk, ensure compliance, and promote positive employee relations. Additionally, you will contribute to policy development, training programs, and operational improvements to boost organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice to managers and People Experience personnel on employee relations issues, policy interpretations, relevant employment laws, and best workplace practices across supported European regions.
- Lead challenging employee relations investigations, including grievances, ethical concerns, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other sensitive workplace issues.
- Coach and support Consultants and Advisers to enhance their skills and deliver consistent, high-quality employee relations assistance throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with People Business Partners, Legal teams, Centres of Excellence, Works Councils, and external entities to resolve complex cases, manage risks, and align with business goals.
- Design and deliver training and onboarding programs to improve managerial effectiveness and broaden employee relations knowledge among employees and People Experience teams.
- Drive policy development, enforce implementation, and advance process improvements to increase operational efficiency and uniformity.
- Oversee relationships with external vendors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and proper management of employee-related matters.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 7 years in Human Resources within a global organization, including at least 5 years specialized in Employee Relations.
- In-depth knowledge of employment legislation and employee relations practices, with preferred experience supporting Ireland, the UK, and other European jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to execute thorough and sensitive workplace investigations professionally and discreetly.
- Strong analytical skills to assess complex information, evaluate risks, and provide balanced recommendations considering employees, business needs, legal compliance, and operational factors.
- Experience mentoring and building capability by coaching managers and delivering training initiatives.
- Excellent relationship-building and collaboration competencies, with experience engaging diverse global, multicultural, and remote teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, along with qualifications in Irish Employment Law and advanced Human Resource Management certification.
