Emergency Response - Field Paramedic

Overview

Barrick Mining Corporation, operating in Kalumbila, Zambia, seeks a dedicated Emergency Response Para/Field Medic to join their Occupational Health and Safety team. Key Responsibilities

• Promptly respond to all site emergencies to ensure swift and effective handling.
• Perform weekly planned maintenance and tasks as per training and skills.
• Maintain emergency vehicles and equipment in a constant state of readiness through thorough pre-start checks.
• Conduct routine testing of emergency response equipment weekly, monthly, and quarterly following standard operating procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
• Prepare weekly and quarterly reports to the Emergency Response supervisor detailing equipment status and emergency preparedness.
• Resolve emergency incidents efficiently and safely.
• Inspect, service, and maintain fixed fire systems on-site to guarantee operational readiness.
• Provide timely status updates on fixed fire systems to the Emergency Response supervisor.
• Adhere to safe working practices at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of Grade 12/full School Certificate is mandatory.
• Diploma in Emergency Medical Care required.
• Minimum of one year professional experience in emergency medical care.
• Registration as a member of the Health Practitioner Council of Zambia (HPCZ).
• Post-qualification experience in rescue and emergency services, especially in mining, is an advantage.
• Nationally accredited certifications including Basic Firefighting and Basic Life Support are preferred.
• Experience in emergency medical services within the mining sector is desirable.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
