Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on electrical equipment to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance and testing on electrical systems, including disassembly, replacement, cleaning, and repairs of components.
- Assemble and disassemble power and lighting equipment for various hotel events such as exhibits, meetings, and banquets.
- Complete maintenance work orders promptly across all departments and participate actively in preventive maintenance programs for building equipment and guest rooms.
- Respond efficiently to guest requests and emergency situations ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
- Maintain cleanliness and order within the engineering areas and coordinate with team members for smooth operations.
- Identify and report significant maintenance issues, unusual findings, and safety risks to management immediately.
- Apply Dorchester Collection Policies, Standards, and Procedures related to Engineering consistently and fairly.
- Adhere to departmental safety practices to foster an accident-free and safe work environment for oneself and others.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or successful completion of a 2-year Trade Course in Electrical disciplines.
- Certification or licensure as an Electronic Technician or equivalent in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanics/HVAC-R.
- Technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing fields.
- Minimum three years of experience in facility management, including at least one year working within an internationally recognized 5-star luxury hotel.
- At least two years of practical electrician experience or a similar role; pre-opening hotel experience is advantageous.
- Proven skills in equipment maintenance, including routine upkeep of various MEP systems and components, repairing electrical equipment using appropriate tools.
- Knowledge of construction, building materials, procedures, and related equipment, including ability to interpret building, air conditioning, refrigeration, and electrical blueprints.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities with a systematic approach to gathering and organizing information.
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service.
- English proficiency is essential as the primary communication language at the hotel.
