System Engineer

About the Role

At ADB SAFEGATE, our dedicated functional teams drive innovation and ensure operational excellence across the company. We are seeking a System Engineer to manage and maintain critical airport electronic systems and lead a team through effective planning and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance of Airfield Lighting Control Monitoring System (ALCMS), SAM, and AiPRON Manager systems, ensuring operational reliability.
• Oversee upkeep of constant current regulators and Integrated Lighting Control and Monitoring Systems (ILCMS).
• Manage auxiliary electronic systems including Fire Detection/Alarm, Building Management System (BMS), and Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies.
• Direct and supervise a team of technicians, managing scheduling, assignments, and performance evaluations.
• Analyze equipment failures to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and assess hazards associated with maintenance activities.
• Utilize computerized maintenance management systems for scheduling and tracking maintenance tasks.
• Inspect airport facilities regularly and recommend necessary improvements or repairs.
• Coordinate and review work performed by external contractors and subcontractors.
• Support management in the execution of overall maintenance operations and recommend capital equipment purchases and spare parts acquisition.

Required Skills and Experience

• A minimum of five years working with electronic equipment and SCADA systems, particularly within airfield lighting contexts.
• Strong familiarity with Airside Operations, including applicable rules, regulations, and best practices.
• Proficiency in the regulatory frameworks such as AGL QCAR, ICAO, BAA, and FAA standards.
• Competent in using both standard and specialized tools related to airfield lighting maintenance.
• Ability to comprehend and execute complex technical instructions, both oral and written, and to prepare comprehensive maintenance reports.
• Effective leadership skills with the capability to train, motivate, and evaluate technical staff.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and reporting abilities.
• Multilingual and intercultural communication skills are advantageous.
• Customer-focused with a results-driven mindset and a heightened awareness of safety protocols.
• Self-motivated and proactive individual.
• Must possess a valid Qatari Driving License.
• Fluency in English is essential; other languages are considered assets.
