Electrician

Position Overview

This role is based at Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, requiring onsite presence to provide prompt maintenance and repair services in a luxury hotel environment. The Electrician attends to guest repair requests, ensures preventive upkeep of equipment including kitchen and mechanical systems, and performs troubleshooting and repair tasks across multiple building systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond quickly and effectively to guest maintenance requests.
• Maintain daily communication regarding maintenance activities and issues with other shifts using standardized communication tools.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating kitchen and mechanical room tools and machines.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machinery visually for faults or wear.
• Manage maintenance inventory and request parts or supplies as needed.
• Operate all utility and equipment shut-off valves safely and efficiently.
• Perform minor repairs including painting, drywall, wood trim, bulb and filter replacements, and cleanup of work areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair various equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and electronic devices found in guest rooms.
• Program televisions and handle inventory related to housekeeping and engineering.
• Adhere strictly to Lockout/Tagout procedures during maintenance activities.
• Maintain interior and exterior landscaping and sprinkler repairs.
• Use basic computer skills to adjust air handler schedules and temperatures.
• Follow all company policies, safety standards, and report hazards or injuries promptly.
• Exhibit professional appearance, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate respectful guest interaction consistent with hospitality standards.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted and assist with heavier loads as required.
• Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders and perform work involving bending, twisting, and pulling.
• Collaborate positively with team members and support organizational goals.
• Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Experience preferred in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting.
• Prior hotel engineering or maintenance experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• A valid Driver’s License is required.
• No supervisory experience necessary.
