Job Overview
The Technician specializing in Wireline/Slickline electrical systems will be tasked with maintaining and repairing slickline units and related tools to guarantee dependable operation in the field.
Primary Duties
- Carry out diagnostic procedures and routine upkeep to maintain equipment in prime condition.
- Deliver customer training on correct equipment usage and maintenance practices.
- Perform inspections and testing to verify equipment compliance with quality and safety regulations.
- Interpret and develop electrical schematics as needed.
- Troubleshoot both hardware and software issues linked to the equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, service reports, and inspections.
- Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental policies during all maintenance tasks.
- Support equipment load outs, functionality tests, and slickline unit mobilization efforts.
- Work closely with field engineers, supervisors, and technical staff to facilitate efficient workshop operations.
- Engage actively in safety briefings and participate in initiatives aimed at continuous operational improvements.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a technical diploma or equivalent qualification in a related discipline.
- At least 2 to 4 years of practical experience as an electrician working with low voltage equipment, ideally within oilfield, wireline, or slickline sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in electrical and electronic troubleshooting.
- Basic proficiency in software applications and installations pertinent to the role.
- Competence in reading electrical drawings, service manuals, and schematics.
- Knowledge of safety protocols typical to oilfield settings such as H2S, confined space practices, and pressure control mechanisms.
