About the Role
Join the Mechanical & Electrical ICI division at Black & McDonald Limited as an Electrical Estimator based in Scarborough, Ontario. This position is ideal for a dedicated professional eager to be part of an industrious and innovative team focused on excellence in electrical construction estimating.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment for construction projects using contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications.
- Guide tendering procedures, critically review tenders, and provide recommendations for tender awards.
- Engage in site evaluations, tender analysis, project hand-offs, project completion meetings, and sector operations discussions.
- Maintain and update a reliable directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, project owners, contractors, and subcontractors ensuring smooth project execution.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
- Graduated from an electrical estimating or construction program.
- Minimum of five years of estimating experience within electrical ICI construction or P3 projects.
- Strong command of estimating closure techniques, interpreting electrical project designs, and managing construction planning and scheduling.
- Excellent organizational skills, time management, and the ability to meet deadlines independently.
- Exceptional communication abilities and self-motivation.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Project).
- Experienced user of Accubid estimating software.
Additional Information and Benefits
- Salary range between $80,000 and $110,000 annually, with starting pay contingent on qualifications including education and experience.
