About The Role
Established in 2016, our client is a leading electrical and renewables contractor handling projects across the UK, ranging from small-scale domestic jobs to significant electrical installations for public and private sector clients. They are currently seeking a skilled and meticulous Electrical Estimator to join their expanding team. This position involves working on various commercial, industrial, and residential projects to provide accurate and competitive estimates supporting successful project delivery from tender through contract award.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop precise and competitive electrical installation cost estimates.
- Analyze tender documents, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Perform material take-offs and calculate labor requirements.
- Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Recognize project risks, identify opportunities, and propose value engineering.
- Prepare comprehensive tender submissions within required deadlines.
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Participate in site visits and pre-tender meetings as necessary.
- Maintain detailed estimating records and help enhance estimating procedures.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the electrical contracting sector.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical installations, relevant regulations, and industry standards.
- Skilled at interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational abilities.
- Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation capabilities.
- Adept at managing multiple tenders and meeting tight schedules.
- Proactive with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical certifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or their equivalents.
- Experience estimating commercial, industrial, or public sector electrical projects.
- Familiarity with current electrical regulations and construction contracts.
- Possession of a full UK driving license.
