Electrical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to ensure the safe, dependable, and effective functioning of all electrical systems within a shopping mall based in Dammam. This role involves overseeing both preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, supervising contractors, managing emergencies, supporting tenants, and optimizing energy consumption.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities for LV panels, MDBs, SMDBs, distribution boards, transformers, generators, UPS, lighting systems (including emergency lighting), power outlets, and busbar infrastructure.
• Conduct daily monitoring of electrical operations to troubleshoot and resolve faults, maintaining system reliability.
• Manage teams including electrical technicians, multi-skilled technicians, foremen, and third-party service contractors.
• Ensure adherence to the Saudi Electrical Code, safety protocols, and relevant regulations.
• Coordinate electrical shutdowns and maintenance work in collaboration with mall management and tenants.
• Supervise generator testing and emergency power operations.
• Perform electrical inspections, testing, and thermal imaging to detect issues.
• Contribute to CAPEX planning, renovation projects, and operational improvements.
• Compile and maintain reports on maintenance activities, Key Performance Indicators, and system records.
• Authorize purchase requisitions for spare parts and track inventory levels.
• Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance in CAFM/CMMS software.
• Participate in emergency response efforts and incident investigation procedures.
• Monitor electrical energy consumption and propose initiatives to improve efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement towards more efficient mall electrical system operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in Facilities Management or a related discipline.
• Experience working in shopping malls, commercial complexes, hospitals, or mixed-use developments.
• Demonstrated expertise with LV electrical systems including MDBs and SMDBs, transformers, generators, UPS systems, lighting control, and emergency power equipment.
• Proficient in performing preventive and corrective maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and contractor oversight.
• Strong understanding of the Saudi Electrical Code and electrical safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed electrical drawings.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
