Role Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Sydney office. The candidate will manage projects of varying sizes, interact directly with clients, and contribute to the design and coordination of engineering projects. Experience in data centre delivery is essential, with additional sector experience in commercial, hotel, retail, and hospitality projects being highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed to effectively collaborate with colleagues, clients, and contractors on innovative projects. Candidates should have solid commercial insight, technical expertise in building services design, and the capacity to integrate these technologies within the hotel, hospitality, and leisure sectors. The position is suited for individuals currently involved in building service consultancy and those willing to engage in practical hands-on engineering work.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage small scale projects, including research, development, design, coordination, and monitoring of mechanical or electrical engineering installations, systems, equipment, and facilities.
- Design and specify control systems, instruments, and operational setups for building engineering services.
- Inspect, test, and report on existing electrical and mechanical installations.
- Define specifications to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and testing comply with functional and customer requirements.
- Represent the company in technical discussions with customers, professional teams, and contractors.
- Prepare specification amendments using tools such as Word or Excel.
- Ensure engineering calculations and drawings adhere to industry standards and legal requirements.
- Oversee and validate design inputs from Intermediate and Graduate Engineers.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and issues relevant to engineering design.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
- Ability to utilize IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software effectively.
- Good familiarity with British Standards (BS) applicable to engineering.
- Capability to manage workload and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Managerial skills and experience.
- Commitment to ethical conduct following applicable Ethics Charter and guidelines.
- Experience within consulting or construction fields preferred.
- Good understanding of international business operations within a global consultancy framework.
Compensation
The role offers a salary of AUD 90,000 per annum.
